At a human rights conference held at the United Nations\u2019 European headquarters in Geneva<\/span><\/span>, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/span><\/span><\/a> delivered a message<\/a> warning of escalating repression in Iran and calling for the international community to hold the regime\u2019s leaders accountable for their crimes.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/span><\/span><\/a> for the transitional period of transferring sovereignty to the people of Iran, stressed that the country is facing severe crises, from the killing of protesters and young demonstrators during recent uprisings to the growing dangers posed by war and repression.<\/p>\n
She emphasized that the fundamental conflict in Iran is between the Iranian people and their organized resistance on one side and what she described as the ruling religious fascism on the other. According to Rajavi, the solution to this long-standing confrontation lies in the overthrow of the regime by the Iranian people through an organized uprising and the establishment of a democratic republic.<\/p>\n
In her message, Rajavi also expressed sympathy for civilians who have lost loved ones or homes due to war and repression, and urged all parties to avoid actions that endanger innocent people or damage civilian infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and service centers.<\/p>\n
She highlighted the situation of thousands of political prisoners in Iran, including many young people arrested during recent protests, warning that they face serious threats while the authorities refuse to release them. Rajavi called for urgent international action to protect these prisoners.<\/p>\n
Referring to the democratic alternative proposed by the resistance, she pointed to the Ten-Point Plan presented by the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/span><\/span> for a future free Iran, which includes the abolition of the death penalty, separation of religion and state, gender equality, and respect for the United Nations<\/span><\/span> Universal Declaration of Human Rights.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi concluded by urging the international community to take decisive steps, including referring the crimes of the Iranian regime to the United Nations Security Council<\/span><\/span> and ensuring that the leaders of the regime face justice through international legal mechanisms or universal jurisdiction.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, in the past four decades, the Western world has often ignored the tragedy of human rights violations in Iran.
By staying silent about the repression of freedoms in Iran, they gave the most significant concession to the regime. They allowed it to escape punishment\u2026<\/p>\n
