Two members of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/span><\/a>), Babak Alipour <\/strong>and Pouya Ghobadi<\/strong>, were executed early **Tuesday, March 31<\/strong>, in Ghezel Hesar Prison, according to** **statement<\/a> published by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>).<\/p>\n**
Babak Alipour, 34, a lawyer, and Pouya Ghobadi, 33, an electrical engineer, had both been arrested in 2024 and previously detained for alleged links to the PMOI. They were sentenced to death in December 2024 alongside several other political prisoners following what were described as months of interrogation and torture.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1265\">According to the judiciary of the Iran regime, the two men were accused of armed activities, including attacks on sensitive sites in Tehran using projectile weapons and alleged involvement in operations targeting state institutions. The charges included \u201crebellion (Baghi),\u201d participation in \u201cterrorist actions,\u201d and membership in the PMOI with the aim of overthrowing the system.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1620\">The executions came shortly after two other prisoners in the same case, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2026\/03\/iranian-regime-executes-two-pmoi-political-prisoners-sparking-calls-for-urgent-international-action\/85020\/\" rel=\"\">Mohammad Taghavi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2026\/03\/iranian-regime-executes-two-pmoi-political-prisoners-sparking-calls-for-urgent-international-action\/85020\/\" rel=\"\">Akbar Daneshvarkar<\/a>, were also put to death. She stated that the killings reflect \u201cthe regime\u2019s fear of the people and their embrace of the Resistance Units,\u201d adding that such actions demonstrate the authorities\u2019 desperation in the face of growing dissent.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2142\" data-end=\"2549\">In a message shared on social media, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" rel=\"\">Mrs. Rajavi<\/a> said that the execution of the two PMOI members shows the regime\u2019s fear and warned that \u201cthis bloodshed will forever roll up the disgraceful scroll of the regime.\u201d She praised the executed individuals for their steadfastness and called on the United Nations, its member states, and human rights organizations to condemn the executions and take immediate action.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2551\" data-end=\"2763\">Mrs. Rajavi also urged the international community to adopt concrete measures, including diplomatic steps against the Iran regime, and emphasized the need to
