March 31, 2026 \u2014<\/strong> Iranian communities in Canada held coordinated protests in Ottawa <\/strong>and Toronto<\/strong> to condemn the execution of political prisoners affiliated with the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n

In both cities, demonstrators gathered to honor Babak Alipour<\/strong><\/a>, 34, and Pouya Ghobadi<\/strong><\/a>, 33, who were executed on Tuesday, March 31, by Iranian authorities. The rallies also commemorated the execution of two other PMOI members, \u00a0Mohammad Taghavi<\/a>, 59, and Akbar Daneshvarkar<\/a>, 58, carried out the previous day, underscoring a sharp escalation in the regime\u2019s use of capital punishment against political prisoners.<\/p>\n
