Executions of PMOI members signal deepening repression and potential repeat of mass political purges<\/h2>\n

Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin<\/a>, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), warned Wednesday<\/a> of a renewed surge in political executions in Iran, calling recent killings of People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI<\/a>) members a sign of growing instability.<\/p>\n

Speaking at an online press conference, Mohaddessin said four PMOI members were executed in recent days after prolonged detention and alleged torture. He added that additional prisoners arrested during the January uprising were also executed last week.<\/p>\n
