G\u00e9rard Deprez:<\/strong> Iran Regime Violates Human Rights & Plots Terrorism in EU<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following issuing\u00a0 a joint statement by 150 Members of the European Parliament on condemning Iranian regime\u2019s human rights abuses at home<\/a> and its terrorist plots in Europe, MEP G\u00e9rard Deprez, chair of Friends of a Free Iran send a message stressing: \u201cHuman rights in Iran cannot be compromised or marginalized on the excuse of political considerations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\nHe pointed out that the signatories were from the six major political groups in the European Parliament and represented 27 EU Member States. They include 4 Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament and 14 Committee and Delegation Chairs.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gdeprez.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">G\u00e9rard Deprez<\/a> recalled that the signatories have expressed concerns for deteriorating situation of human rights and repression of women in Iran.<\/p>\nRegarding the volatile social atmosphere in Iran since late December last year, Mr. Deprez said: \u2018Iranian cities have been the scenes of major uprisings and<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2018\/11\/14\/iran-continuous-protests-irgc-basij\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> anti-regime protests<\/a>, and people demand fundamental change.\u201d<\/p>\nHe emphasized: \u201cMeanwhile the regime\u2019s officials have acknowledged the role of \u201cresistance units\u201d of <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the opposition PMOI (MEK)<\/a> in organizing protests and nationwide strikes. Tehran spends millions on a massive smear campaign throughout the western world, disseminating false news and misinformation against this main opposition movement.\u201d<\/p>\nG\u00e9rard Deprez Concluded: \u201cUnable to defeat the protesters at home, the regime launched a new wave of terrorism against opposition activists abroad. In recent months, several Iran regime\u2019s terror plots have been neutralized by European and American Security agencies.
