Former NATO commander General Wesley Clark<\/strong> declared that peaceful demonstrations alone will not bring change to Iran, stressing that the country\u2019s future depends on organized resistance led by the Iranian people themselves.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the Washington Free Iran Rally<\/a> on May 16, 2026, Clark compared America\u2019s democratic legacy with nearly five decades of repression under Iran\u2019s ruling clerical establishment. He accused the regime of widespread corruption, regional destabilization, and the execution of young dissidents.<\/p>\n
Referring to recent strikes targeting Iran\u2019s nuclear and military facilities, Clark argued that foreign military operations can only weaken the regime\u2019s outer structure. According to him, real transformation must come from inside Iran through a determined and legitimate resistance movement.<\/p>\n
Clark also praised the resilience of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) and the PMOI\/MEK<\/a>, describing them as the regime\u2019s most serious challenge. He endorsed Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s Ten-Point Plan<\/a> for establishing a secular and democratic republic, emphasizing that the Iranian people\u2019s courage and persistence will ultimately shape the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
