On June 20, during the Free Iran 2026 World Summit<\/a> in Paris, former Vice President of the European Parliament Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras delivered an address reflecting on his 25 years of support for the Iranian Resistance movement. Vidal-Quadras criticized Western governments for continuing a failed policy of appeasement toward Tehran under various labels, including \u201cconstructive dialogue,\u201d arguing that these approaches have failed the Iranian people while allowing the regime to continue expanding repression and state violence.<\/p>\n
He pointed to the execution of 853 people since the beginning of the year as evidence that the ruling dictatorship lacks any capacity for genuine reform or moderation. Vidal-Quadras stated that the democratic alternative led by Maryam Rajavi<\/a> offers a comprehensive roadmap<\/a> for a secular republic based on judicial independence, gender equality, and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the international community has a responsibility to support the courage of the internal Resistance Units<\/a>, who continue to risk their lives by confronting the Revolutionary Guards and other institutions of repression in an effort to dismantle the regime from within.<\/p>\n
