At the Free Iran 2026 World Summit<\/a> in Paris, former US Senator Robert Torricelli delivered a strong message of support for the Iranian people\u2019s struggle for freedom and democracy. Addressing NCRI<\/a> President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the residents of Ashraf-3<\/a>, and the Resistance Units<\/a> operating inside Iran, Senator Torricelli praised their courage and sacrifices in confronting the ruling regime.<\/p>\n
Senator Torricelli criticized the French government\u2019s limitations on the summit\u2019s public gathering, stressing that efforts to restrict expressions of support for Iran\u2019s democratic movement cannot silence the call for freedom. He also rejected the idea that the remnants of the Pahlavi monarchy could play a role in Iran\u2019s future, describing them as a failed political force with no place in a democratic Iran.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on recent regional developments, including Tehran\u2019s threats concerning the Strait of Hormuz, Senator Torricelli argued that agreements with the Iranian regime cannot be considered dependable. He emphasized that lasting change cannot be achieved through negotiations with those who suppress their own people.<\/p>\n
According to Senator Torricelli, Iran\u2019s liberation cannot be delivered by foreign governments or external powers. Instead, he stated that genuine freedom must be achieved by the Iranian people themselves through their determination and resistance on the streets of Tehran and across the country.<\/p>\n
Honoring the sacrifice of thousands of Iranians who have lost their lives in the fight for freedom, Senator Torricelli highlighted the resilience of a movement that continues despite immense repression. He declared that every fallen freedom fighter inspires countless others to continue the struggle.<\/p>\n
Drawing a comparison with Ukraine\u2019s historic defense of its independence, Senator Torricelli called on the international community to stand with the Iranian people in their pursuit of liberty. He concluded by expressing hope that Iran\u2019s long period of oppression is approaching its final chapter and that a democratic future is within reach.<\/p>\n
