Speaking at the second day of the Free Iran 2026 World Summit<\/a> in Paris, former United States Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, General Joseph Keith Kellogg, declared that Iran\u2019s ruling theocracy has reached its most vulnerable point since coming to power in 1979. In his remarks on June 21, 2026, Kellogg pointed to major geopolitical shifts across the region, arguing that the collapse of allied structures supporting Tehran\u2014including developments involving Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Venezuela\u2019s Maduro government\u2014demonstrates the weakening of the regime\u2019s regional influence network.<\/p>\n

General Kellogg stated that Tehran has entered technical discussions regarding the reduction and dilution of its enriched uranium stockpile over a 60-day period. He emphasized that limiting the regime\u2019s nuclear capabilities alone would not automatically bring freedom to Iran, but argued that removing its nuclear leverage would significantly weaken the ruling establishment by eliminating the protective \u201cnuclear umbrella\u201d that has supported its regional activities and increased its ability to suppress domestic opposition.<\/p>\n

Referring to former US President Ronald Reagan\u2019s principle of \u201ctrust but verify,\u201d Kellogg praised the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) for its role in revealing Iran\u2019s previously undisclosed nuclear sites in Natanz and Arak in 2002. He described the NCRI as an important force in ensuring international oversight and called for continued vigilance to guarantee full compliance with any commitments made by Tehran.<\/p>\n

Concluding his remarks, General Kellogg called for decisive and coordinated international action to take advantage of what he described as a historic opportunity. He presented nuclear disarmament as a crucial first step toward weakening the Iranian regime and advancing the democratic future outlined in the Iranian Resistance\u2019s Ten-Point Plan.<\/p>\n
