Speaking at theFree Iran 2026 World Summit<\/a> in Paris on June 21, 2026, Belgian Member of Parliament Kathleen Depoorter delivered a strong message against Iran\u2019s ruling establishment, calling on European governments to replace years of appeasement with a principled and decisive policy.<\/p>\n

Depoorter argued that developments over the past six months have removed any doubt that the Iranian regime is incapable of reform. According to her, meaningful change must come through the determination of the Iranian people rather than foreign military intervention. She highlighted the role of the PMOI Resistance Units, describing them as a key force in the country\u2019s organized movement for democratic change.<\/p>\n

She also praised the resilience of Iranian dissidents who have endured imprisonment, torture, and executions for opposing the regime. Depoorter stressed that the systematic oppression of women remains a defining feature of the ruling ideology, while adding that public resistance has increasingly weakened the regime\u2019s grip through growing fear among its own authorities.<\/p>\n

A major focus of her speech was her endorsement of Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Ten-Point Plan<\/a>. Depoorter described the proposal as a credible roadmap for a democratic future, emphasizing its commitment to secular governance, equal rights for women and men, and an independent judiciary free from the influence of the clergy, the monarchy, or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).<\/p>\n
