MEK supporters rally outside Sweden\u2019s Foreign Ministry in Stockholm to protest execution of Mehdi Khanaki.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Stockholm, Sweden \u2013 July 25, 2026:<\/strong> Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/span><\/a>) gathered outside Sweden\u2019s Foreign Ministry to protest the execution of political prisoner and PMOI member\u00a0 Mehdi Khanaki<\/a>, carried out over his involvement in Iran\u2019s January uprising. The rally also honored members of the organization and protesters killed during the uprising, while commemorating the first anniversary of the executions of PMOI members Mehdi Hassani<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0 Behrouz Ehsani<\/a>, paying tribute to their sacrifice and resistance against the Iranian regime. Participants issued an urgent call to halt the imminent execution of 22-year-old Amirhassan Akbari Monfared<\/a>.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&+p]:mt-4 [&_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">Protesters called on the Swedish government to take decisive action against the Iranian regime over its criminal executions and terrorist activities, including closing the regime\u2019s embassy in Stockholm, which they described as a hub of espionage and terrorism. They also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners in Iran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&+p]:mt-4 [&_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">Demonstrators strongly condemned the ruling clerical regime, describing the executions as a blatant violation of human rights. Participants paid tribute to the victims by holding their photos and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the struggle against the regime until its overthrow and the establishment of peace, freedom, and justice in a democratic republic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&+p]:mt-4 [&_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">Protesters also rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchical<\/a> or theocratic, emphasizing their opposition to both the rule of the Shah and the current mullah-led regime. They voiced support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/ncri\/alternative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>) as a
