UNID activists at Ut\u00f8ya spotlight Iran\u2019s executions, the 1988 massacre, and the call for justice.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
On Wednesday, August 5, 2026,<\/strong> members of UNID<\/a> (the Iranian\u2013Norwegian Youth Association)<\/strong>, a youth organization committed to a free, democratic, and secular Iran, gathered on the island of **Ut\u00f8ya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n**
The island witnessed the massacre of 69 young members of Norway\u2019s Labour Party by the far-right terrorist Anders Behring Breivik on July 22, 2011. Against this backdrop, young supporters of the Iranian Resistance held an information booth, giving voice to the pursuit of justice for the victims of tyranny in Iran.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Meanwhile, they raised awareness about the <a href=\"https:\/\/iran1988.org\/1988-massacre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1988 massacre<\/a> of political prisoners and the ongoing wave of daily executions in Iran while introducing Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/tomorrow-s-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ten-Point Plan<\/a> as the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\" rel=\"\">NCRI<\/a>), drew significant interest from young members of various Norwegian political parties.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"From Ut\u00f8ya, Norway, to Iran: Young Activists Spotlight Iran&apos;s Executions and the 1988 Massacre - 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7KV2OTpIcT4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">As a result, linking the quest for justice for Iran\u2019s martyrs with the memory of the victims of <strong>Ut\u00f8ya<\/strong> conveyed a powerful message: the struggle against crime, terrorism, and executions knows no borders, and the truth can never be silenced.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"From Ut\u00f8ya, Norway, to Iran: Young Activists Spotlight Iran&apos;s Executions and the 1988 Massacre - 3\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QIVfPCQDIO0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Background: Iran Executions and the 1988 Massacre<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Iran has witnessed a sharp <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2026\/08\/irans-killing-machine-accelerates-record-executions-target-political-prisoners-and-january-2026-uprising-protesters\/89076\/\" rel=\"\">escalation in executions<\/a> in recent years, with human rights organizations reporting a growing number of death sentences and executions targeting political prisoners, protesters, and members of ethnic and religious minorities. Following the nationwide uprising that began in January 2026, numerous arrested protesters have reportedly faced harsh sentences, including death penalties, after proceedings widely criticized for lacking due process.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign at <strong>Ut\u00f8ya<\/strong> also highlighted the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/story-of-1988-massacre-in-iran\/\" rel=\"\">1988 massacre<\/a> of political prisoners, during which more than 30,000 political prisoners\u2014most of them members or supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-iranian-opposition-pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMOI\/MEK<\/a>)\u2014were executed following summary proceedings.<\/p>\n<p><iframe
