As the highest international authority, the UNGA condemned Iran\u2019s violation of human rights<\/a>. Iran\u2019s condemnation resolution was adopted on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

84 states voted in favor of this resolution which draws reactions at the\nhighest political and diplomatic levels, as well as regime\u2019s frantic reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s condemnation resolution condemns the systematic violations of human\nrights and fundamental freedoms by the regime and the alarmingly high number of\nexecutions, as well as torture and cruel treatment in prisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s condemnation resolution strongly calls for a\nhalt to deliberate deprivation of prisoners from access to medical treatment\nand calls for an end to \u201cwidespread restrictions on the right to freedom\nof opinion and expression and the right to freedom of assembly\u201d. It also\ncalls on the regime to stop the \u201charassment and intimidation\u201d of\npolitical opponents, human rights defenders, defenders of the rights of minorities,\nwomen, workers, students, and environmental activists. It necessitates the UN\nspecial rapporteur to visit Iran.\u00a0 The\nresolution restated: \u201cThe General Assembly decides to continue to review\nthe human rights situation in Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Dec. 15, two days before the adoption of Iran\u2019s condemnation resolution, Mrs. Maryam Rajvavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a> has emphasized on the need to refer Iran\u2019s violation of human rights dossier to the UNSC. Speaking at a global video conference in communion with more than 40 cities from Europe, North America, and Australia, she underscored: \u201cThe dossier of the regime\u2019s continuing crimes against humanity must be referred to the UN Security Council, and Khamenei, Rouhani <\/a>and other regime leaders must face justice.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maryam\nRajavi welcomed the adoption of Iran\u2019s condemnation resolution and said: \u201cthe adoption of this resolution \u201conce again confirmed\nthat the regime blatantly tramples upon the Iranian people\u2019s most fundamental\nrights in all political, social and economic spheres.\u201d<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
