UN Special Rapporteur Leopoldo Maldonado Joins the Campaign<\/h3>\n
Leopoldo Maldonado Guti\u00e9rrez, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, has joined the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays<\/a>\u201d campaign with a 24-hour hunger strike. On Monday, 19 October 2026, he announced that he would begin the action at midnight Iran time, coinciding with Tuesday, 20 October \u2014 the 143rd consecutive week<\/a> of the prisoners\u2019 weekly protest.<\/p>\n
