The demonstrators particularly denounced the execution of political prisoners and the wave of death sentences imposed on protesters arrested during uprisings across Iran.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"support-for-un-rapporteur\" class=\"font-semibold leading-tight text-pretty mb-2 mt-4 [[data-has-inline-images]_&amp;]:clear-end text-lg first:mt-0 md:text-lg [hr+&amp;]:mt-4\">Support for UN Rapporteur<\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">The participants also <strong>expressed strong appreciation and support<\/strong> for <strong>Leopoldo Maldonado Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of opinion and expression, who joined the political prisoners\u2019 hunger strike on Tuesday, October 20. His action coincided with the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2026\/10\/un-special-rapporteur-leopoldo-maldonado-joins-no-to-execution-tuesdays-hunger-strike-as-it-enters-143rd-week\/92088\/\" rel=\"\">143rd week of the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays\u201d<\/a> campaign, in which prisoners in 66 prisons across Iran are protesting executions and defending the right to life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">Maldonado announced a 24-hour hunger strike in solidarity with Iran\u2019s political prisoners and called for an immediate halt to executions, the commutation of death sentences, and a review of cases that failed to meet fair-trial standards.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Berlin \u2013 Oct 20, 2026: Day 235 of the PMOI supporters\u2019 sit-in outside the mullahs\u2019 embassy.\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NV1XadIuBZ8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"calls-for-embassy-closure-and-accountability\" class=\"font-semibold leading-tight text-pretty mb-2 mt-4 [[data-has-inline-images]_&amp;]:clear-end text-base first:mt-0\">Calls for Embassy Closure and Accountability<\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">The protesters called for the closure of the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy in Berlin as a center of espionage and terrorism operating on German soil. They also demanded accountability for the regime\u2019s systematic repression, human rights violations, and continued executions in Iran.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"against-dictatorship-for-a-democratic-republic\" class=\"font-semibold leading-tight text-pretty mb-2 mt-4 [[data-has-inline-images]_&amp;]:clear-end text-base first:mt-0\">Against Dictatorship, for a Democratic Republic<\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">The sit-in reflects the participants\u2019 opposition to both the clerical dictatorship and a return to the former monarchical system. Their position is expressed in the slogan, \u201cDown with the oppressor, be it the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/editorial\/editorial-iran-and-mojtaba-khamenei-succession-without-legitimacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Leader<\/a>.\u201d The protesters say Iran\u2019s future should be based on a free and democratic republic rather than another form of dictatorship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">They support the establishment of a democratic republic based on Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/tomorrow-s-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ten-Point Plan<\/a> and call for international recognition of the provisional government proposed by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\">NCRI<\/a>) as part of the transition toward a democratic Iran.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"support-for-the-mek-resistance-units\" class=\"font-semibold leading-tight text-pretty mb-2 mt-4 [[data-has-inline-images]_&amp;]:clear-end text-base first:mt-0\">Support for the MEK Resistance Units<\/h3>\n<p>A central demand of the protest was international support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK Resistance Units<\/a> inside Iran as an organized force confronting the clerical regime and working to end its system of repression.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:align-top\">The demonstrators also urged stronger action against the Iranian regime\u2019s intelligence and security networks in Europe and called for the expulsion of its
