Brussels, the conference on \u201crising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran<\/a> regime\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belgian capital, Brussels, is hosting a conference partaking former diplomats and European experts on the issue of rising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime, and the threats it poses to Europe and the United States. Mousa Afshar, an official of the Iranian opposition in Paris<\/a>, said that the conference was very important and was holding at a very critical time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers at the conference, included Mr. Louis Freeh, the former Director of the Federal Bureau<\/a> of Investigation (FBI) from the US, Mr. Giulio Terzi, the former Italy\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Claude Monique, co-founder and executive director of the European Center for Strategy and Strategic Security, and Mr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras,<\/a> the former deputy speaker of the European Parliament, from Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organizers, the conference was held at a\ndire time of rising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime in Europe and\nthe US in 2018, with at least four failed attempts in France, Albania, Denmark\nand the United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union blacklisted an institute of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS<\/a>) and two senior officials, on January 8, 2019. Following the nuclear agreement in 2015, this was the first sanction carried out by EU against rising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime, which reflected the significance of the case for the European states. Indeed, it was a turning point of the European diplomacy regarding Tehran\u2019s malign activities in planning and carrying out terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference discussed the recent the roles of the Iran regime\u2019s relevant organizations, the Qods force, and MOIS, in stepping up terrorism<\/a>, their objectives and targets, their threats posed to western citizens, and the proper stance which must be taken by the international community regards the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nDr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras opened the conference by giving a brief on rising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime in Europe and America and criticizing European External Action policy and a lack of a firm policy regarding the Iranian regime.\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Quadras pointed to the fact that some\nof the Iranian regime\u2019s diplomats accused of terrorism had close ties to Hassan\nRouhani and accompanied Javad Zarif in his meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Quadras expressed his surprised over the EU states\u2019 stances and asked about the reasons that they did not sanction the entire Intelligence Ministry and did not blacklist the MOIS and the IRGC<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Mr. Quadras in part of his speech raised the\nquestion of Why not sanctioning the regime\u2019s supreme leader who endorsed all of\nthe terrorist operations. And added that the EU could not have normal relations\nwith a regime which jeopardizes the safety of citizens in Europe and the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nThe next speaker of the conference was Mr. Louis Freeh, the former director of the FBI. He stipulated that the terrorist activities of the Iranian regime were not the work of only several rogues performing unilateral acts on their own, but it was clearly state-financed and state-controlled.\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pointing to the several-year-old JCPOA,\nMr. Freeh said that the Iranian regime could not be trusted and there could not\nbe a meaningful relationship possible. It could never be trusted. The mullahs\ndo not have the same respect for the rule of law as others do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Freeh stated that terrorism was not a\npattern of behavior but it was institutionalized. Appeasement of the Iran\nregime, not only conveyed a sense of weakness, but it conveyed to the adversary\nto continue to do what it did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the next speaker was Mr. Farzin Hashemi, Deputy of the NCRI. <\/a>He said, \u201cI would like to focus on rising the state-sponsored terrorism by Iran regime which is carried out by the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and the IRGC in collaboration with the Foreign Minister. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Farzin Hashemi added, \u201cQassem Soleimani,\nchief of the Qods Force, uses a fake passport to travel to Europe. They change\ntheir names slightly so that they could not be easily recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farzin Hashemi recalled, \u201cOn Dec. 19, 2018, the Prime Minister of Albania expelled the Iranian regime ambassador<\/a> and its chief of intelligence station in that country. They were involved in a plot to bomb the MEK<\/a> New Year celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farzin Hashemi added that the commander\nof the Paris bombing, Assadollah Assadi, was the highest intelligence officer\nof Iran regime in Europe. He was supervising all the activities of the MOIS in\nEurope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farzin Hashemi pointed to the ironic fact that Mohammad Jafar Sahraroodi, who personally assassinated Abol-Rahman Qassemlou, the leader of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran in Austria, now is the head of the Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, bureau and the chief of protocol, who welcomes heads of state to Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, Mr. Giulio Terzi<\/a> took the floor. Reminding the Iranian regime\u2019s cyber threat, as an element of subversion and another issue of concern, Mr. Terzi pointed to the strong existing evidence that obliged Twitter and Facebook to admit that Iran is using social media against the west. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Terzi said, \u201cIt seems that in negotiating with Iran, it is\nnot important for European services that the other party is a state-sponsor of\nterrorism and the level of cooperation is not in the level of antagonist\ncountries, but friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Terzi stated, \u201cThere is much more to do about the\nexpulsion of Iranian diplomats from Europe and their embassies closed down for\nthe safety and security of our people,\u201d and \u201cSpecial attention is needed for\ncounteracting the cyber threat from Iran. There are different format and forms,\nbut the specific cyber threat coming from Iran must be dealt with in specific\nways,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yves Bonnet, former director of France\u2019s DST<\/a> was the next speaker. He said, \u201cTotalitarian regimes intertwine their security activities with their diplomatic activities. In fact, they use terrorism to physically eliminate their opponents. That is their priority.\u201d\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Mr. Yves Bonnet\npointed, \u201cFor eliminating their opposition, totalitarian regimes use state\nterrorism under diplomatic cover, with the protection of embassies and by using\ntheir facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yves Bonnet continued, \u201cThe Iranian diplomats are taking advantage of their diplomatic status and immunity to carry out violent terrorist activities and to suppress their opposition physically. This is their number one priority,\u201d he added, \u201cAn excellent news for us, the Europeans, is the condemnation and sanctioning of Iran as a theocratic regime in the 21st century. A measure which is very valuable is the international recognition of the NCRI that represents the people of Iran on the international level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nMr. Claude Moniquet, the Co-founder and CEO of the European Strategic and Security Center was the next speaker who pointed to the fact that the Iranian regime\u2019s terrorism has been going on for 40 years and the terrorism fuels their foreign policy.\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Moniquet said,\u201dIran uses terrorism to eliminate its\nopposition both at home and abroad. This regime has served as a model for\nextremist Sunni movements. Its security system seeks to spread and promote its\nideology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Moniquet stipulated that the Supreme Security Council in\nIran was chaired by Hassan Rouhani and the authorities of all branches were\nconcentrated in that council that made the decisions which were endorsed by the\nSupreme Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claude Moniquet recalled other means that Iran\u2019s Ministry of\nIntelligence uses to fulfill its missions by taking advantages of non-official\nagents, for example, Melli Bank branches in EU, or by cooperating with the Qods\nForce that has 25.000 members and gives support to the Syrian Government and\nthe Hezbollah of Lebanon.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
