The Supreme National Security Council of Iran is the main cause of the suppression and export of terrorism
The Supreme National Security Council of Iran consists of a group of senior government officials who make the most important security decisions.
In addition to military personnel, the Supreme National Security Council of Iran includes the heads of three branches of government (executive, legislative and judiciary. The Supreme National Security Council is presided by the president of the Iranian regime. The head of the Judiciary and the Speaker of the Majlis (parliament) are also members of this council.
Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei is the main figure of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. Although he is not officially a member of the council, two people represent him, one of them is secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.
The decisions of this council should never be against Khamenei’s opinion, as his decisions always have priority. In the meantime, most of the members of the council, who are military officials, are all those who agree with Khamenei and are elected by him as a member of the council.
The council often meets quickly for popular demonstrations and decides how to deal with the demonstrations. Although they never publicly say that they held a meeting about the demonstrations, but the popular demonstrations represent a security threat to the regime.
During the November 2019 protests in Iran, the Supreme National Security Council of Iran was also the main decision-making body for suppressing popular demonstrations.
