MEK supporters commemorate 30th anniversary of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran

Three decades have passed from the horrible summer of 1988 when Iranian regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini ordered the massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners, most of whom being members and supporters of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Story of 1988 Massacre in Iran

Families of victims speak of their experience

Ottawa, Canada-Members of Iranian communities in Ottawa

Vahideh Khoramroud

Dear friends, Thank you very much for participating in this gathering.

It is my pleasure to speak on the behalf of the Ottawa Women’s Association in this gathering for the 30th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in Iran, in 1988, to convey to you this message from our association.

We have gathered here at a time when people inside Iran are expressing their protest against the regime with their expanding uprisings.

Thirty years ago, those heroes stood for the freedom of the Iranian people and onset a new chapter in contemporary Iranian history.

Those heroes, in particular, women, resisted the repressive forces, made the aggressors to knee down, and showed their loyalty to the MEK.

Now we have a regime that is corrupt and hated by the Iranian people.

And we also see that the path initiated by the MEK/PMOI and their thoughts are expanding national wide.
