Iran’s streets speak out and represent the genuine Iran opposition

Iran’s streets speak out and represent the genuine Iran opposition

Watching the images of the volcano in Haiti, while volcanic lava flowed down into streets and surprised geologists, recalls the events of the uprising in the cities of Iran, when people, fed up with the dreadful economic conditions and systematic corruption, poured into the streets, like volcanic emission, on the last December, and expressed fury towards the regime.  Shortly afterward, economic claims converted to political demands, and people displayed their hatred of the entire religious dictatorship with their slogans calling for regime change.

“Death to dictator”

“Death to Rouhani”

“Reformist, Hardliner, the game is over”

Tehran mullahs alongside the majority of think tanks promoting the appeasement policy toward Iran, were shocked by the speed at which the protests spread across the country. But, considering the fact that the past four decades with mullahs’ rule in Iran has been marked with repression, severe censorship of news and arbitrary executions and torture of prisoners, nothing is expected save an uprising.

But for the first time, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated in her famous speech at the Iranian Grand Gathering in June 2017 that everything was ready for the overthrow of the mullahs in Tehran. Mrs. Rajavi provided a realistic analysis of the then-domestic and international conditions that was a warning to the mullahs and promised the Iranian people that times have come for freedom in Iran.

Following the protests in Iran, Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Mullahs’ regime, after days of silence, acknowledged the key role of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in conducting the popular uprisings. At the same time, in an unprecedented diplomatic move, Hassan Rouhani on a telephone call, begged President Emmanuel Macron to restrict the activities of the NCRI and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi in France. This rare action proved the power and influence of the NCRI and its network inside the country.

Nowadays, after several months of the Iranian uprising, with more than 320 protests and continued demonstrations throughout Iran, it is now regime’s senior analysts who are admitting to the capability of the Iranian alternative in organizing and directing popular protests. Regarding this issue, Ramin … in his article entitled “A conversation  with the supporters and opponents of the Mojahedin” has gone a step further and has revealed the weakness of the regime and on  the other hand the might of the democratic alternative (NCRI) in bringing about the legitimate demands of the Iranian people for Freedom and democracy in Iran.

The streets of Iran speak out. The uprising of the people of Isfahan in protest to drying Zayandeh-Rood, the uprising of people at Kazerun, which resulted in violent clashes and the deaths of three, the strikes of truck drivers which were expanded into more than 270 cities of Iran, initially planned for three days but exceeded a couple of weeks, all demonstrate the will of the people for a fundamental change by overthrowing the entire regime. Meanwhile, the presence and key role of the opposition movement is remarkable.

On coming June 30, for the 14th consecutive year, a massive gathering of Iranians will be held in Paris and this time, particularly in solidarity with the uprising of the Iranian people. Last year, more than 100,000 Iranians from five continents participated in the Grand Gathering of the Iranian Resistance. 32 diplomatic delegations from different countries participated in this event and announced support for the democratic alternative to the Iranian regime, National Council of Resistance of Iran, and Mrs. Rajavi’s 10-point plan for free Iran of tomorrow.

This year’s Iranian Grand Gatherings on June 30 in Paris, will be held in solidarity with the uprisings inside Iran, carrying a strong message to the mullahs’ regime that their disgraceful ruling will be ended soon.
