Washington, DC – February 21, 2025: In a powerful demonstration of solidarity and resistance, Iranian Resistance supporters, human rights activists, and Iranian American communities will gather in Washington, DC, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, to demand justice, democracy, and an end to oppression in Iran.
Organized by the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC), the 2025 Rally for a Free Iran will begin at 1 PM and will coincide with International Women’s Day—a fitting occasion to amplify the voices of Iranian women who continue to lead the struggle against tyranny.

Women, Resistance, Freedom
The rally’s theme, “Women, Resistance, Freedom,” reflects the courageous fight of Iranian women and men against the brutal policies of the regime in Tehran. Protesters will march in solidarity with those inside Iran who risk everything for their basic rights and freedoms. The event aims to shine a spotlight on human rights abuses, including wrongful imprisonments, gender-based repression, executions, and the violent crackdown on peaceful dissent.
A Gathering of Voices for Justice
The demonstration will feature speeches from prominent human rights defenders, former political prisoners, and U.S. lawmakers who stand in support of the Iranian people’s struggle for democracy. Attendees will carry banners and chant against executions, repression, and the suppression of opposition voices. The march will also pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in the fight for freedom and those still enduring imprisonment for their activism.
Iranian American communities and organizations across the U.S. are mobilizing to make this rally a major event, inspired by the grand Paris gatherings in support of a democratic alternative to the Iranian regime.
