Global Protests Expand as Iranian Resistance Supporters Condemn Executions and Demand Justice

April 10, 2025 — In continuation of the protests sparked by the execution of five political prisoners in Mashhad, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held new rounds of demonstrations across Europe and North America to denounce the clerical regime’s crimes and to demand international action.

In Denmark, gatherings were held in both Copenhagen and Aarhus, where demonstrators displayed photos of the executed prisoners and banners condemning the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of repression. Protesters called on Danish authorities to adopt firm policies in support of human rights in Iran.

In Vienna, Austria, PMOI supporters organized a protest and exhibition near the United Nations offices, highlighting the regime’s gross human rights violations and urging the UN to launch an independent investigation into the recent executions.

A photo exhibition took place in Lucerne, Switzerland, where participants called on Swiss officials to break their silence and hold the regime accountable. The exhibition featured images of victims of the regime’s brutality and messages from NCRI leadership, emphasizing the international responsibility to act against the wave of executions in Iran.

In Amsterdam, the Netherlands, supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered in Dam Square to protest the horrific executions carried out by the Iranian regime. Their banners and statements highlighted that “in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at least ten prisoners were executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, Iran. Among the victims were three women. Five of those executed were Sunni prisoners of conscience, executed after nine years of imprisonment.”
The demonstrators strongly condemned this brutal crime by the mullahs’ regime and urged the international community to take action. The protest in Dam Square was held as an expression of outrage and solidarity with the victims.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, Canada, Iranian Resistance supporters rallied in solidarity with those protesting across Europe. The demonstrators urged the Canadian government to impose targeted sanctions against Iranian regime officials and to support the global campaign to end executions in Iran.

Additionally, on April 8, a protest took place in The Hague, Netherlands, where PMOI supporters gathered outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to condemn the executions and call on the Dutch government to take action. The protest coincided with news of the executions and served as an urgent appeal for international attention.

Also on April 8, a separate protest took place in Cologne, Germany, where supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered to voice their outrage over the executions and to urge German officials to adopt a firm stance against the Iranian regime’s ongoing human rights violations.

Supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Vienna, Lucerne, Amsterdam, and The Hague called for the prosecution of the leaders of the mullahs’ regime in an international tribunal for crimes against humanity. They also urged European countries and the European Union to sever ties with the regime, shut down its embassies — which serve as centers of terrorism and espionage — and designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, citing its gross human rights violations and dozens of UN condemnations.

Furthermore, protesters in Canada expressed their strong demand for the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Ottawa, following the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government.

These widespread protests underscore the determination of the Iranian diaspora to amplify the voices of the oppressed inside Iran and to press the international community to hold the regime accountable for crimes against humanity.
