Manchester, UK – April 3, 2025: Members of the Academics in Exile Association, who support the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), organized a book stall and photo exhibition to protest the death sentences imposed on political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI. The event was a direct appeal to UK leaders to take urgent action to save those facing execution and to support global campaigns against the regime’s ongoing injustices.
The organizers condemned the Iranian regime’s persistent human rights violations and expressed strong solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom, led by the MEK.
The exhibition shed light on the grave human rights crisis in Iran, with a focus on political prisoners at risk of execution. It also called for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners held by the ruling regime.
The exhibition urged the UK government to officially designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization and to shut down the Iranian regime’s embassy, which is considered a hub for espionage and terror. Members of Manchester’s Iranian community demanded the international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity.
The Academics in Exile Association stated on X platform: “Bookstall by the Academics in Exile Association in Manchester. In support of political prisoners and to stop torture and executions in #Iran. Thursday, April 3, 2025 – Manchester City Centre.”
