Sheffield, UK – April 8, 2025: The Academics in Exile Association, which supports the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), organized a book and photo exhibition to protest the death sentences imposed on political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI.
Academics in exile expressed their solidarity with political prisoners at this book and photo exhibition, supporting the 63rd week of the hunger strike campaign against execution sentences in prisons across the country. They called for the immediate release of all political prisoners in Iran.
The exhibition also highlighted Iran’s worsening human rights crisis, with an increasing number of political prisoners facing execution. Attendees expressed solidarity with the Iranian Revolution and its calls for change.
Participants urged the UK government to officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC ) as a terrorist organization and to shut down Iran’s embassy, which they described as a center for espionage and terrorism. Members of Sheffield’s Iranian community also called for the international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity.
The Academics in Exile Association shared on X: “Iranian political prisoners continue their hunger strike into the 62nd week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign. Exiled Academics’ Association holds a solidarity table in Sheffield city centre. Tuesday, April 8, 20255“
