Southampton, UK – June 9, 2025: Members of the Academics in Exile Association, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), held an exhibition to express solidarity with political prisoners and to call for an end to executions. Petitions were signed in support of the global demand for justice.
The event highlighted the severe human rights violations in Iran, focusing particularly on political prisoners facing execution. It also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners detained by the mullahs’ regime.
The exhibition urged the UK government to officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime’s embassy, which is viewed as a center for espionage and terror activities. Members of Southampton’s Iranian community demanded the international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity.

Furthermore, the academics advocated for justice, stronger sanctions against the regime, and recognition of the Iranian people’s right to self-defense. The exhibition was met with a positive response from a diverse audience in Southampton.
