The mullahs’ regime has a major crisis in the existence of a just and democratic opposition movement threatening its despotic rule. An entity that has been paying the price of its struggle for over four decades, standing firm on their objectives and principles, defying all odds before execution squads and the gallows, in the face of torturers and hundreds of prisons throughout Iran.
It is now crystal clear the PMOI/MEK and the organized Iranian Resistance movement are advancing and pursuing the campaign to realize the overthrow of this regime.
Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi has founded his strategy on launching “resistance units/ Iranian opposition network” inside Iran, with the goal of establishing units throughout the society and forming a bond between the files of a new revolution with the ranks of this movement found in its central core, being the PMOI/MEK.
Despite being blueprinted years ago, as crises inside Iran escalate and the regime is witnessing more rifts inside its apparatus, along with the ongoing uprising continuing to this day since the January 2018 revolt, the “resistance units” strategy has left a major impact throughout the country. They have also become the target of a demonizing campaign by elements of this regime inside Iran and abroad, proving their effectiveness and how utterly concerned the mullahs’ regime is about the continuation of such activities.
From the Iranian regime’s state-controlled media and remarks heard from numerous regime officials, make it palpably clear that the mullahs are increasingly paranoid about the continuing and expanding activities of the resistance units.
Considering the explosive state of Iran’s society, the PMOI/MEK, having an organized structure, has been able to impact the on-the-ground events, emerging as the most important force in inspiring the Iranian people to resist as well as directing and politicizing protests and demonstrations by various sectors of Iranian society.
Fearing the morphing of protests and acts of defiance into a major nationwide uprising that will toppled the regime in its entirety, the mullahs have stepped up crackdown, including the arrest and public execution of dissidents in order to intimidate and terrorize the citizenry and dissuade them from continuing their protests.
Nevertheless, these measure have proven futile in preventing the resistance units from continuing their activities and their growing appeal among the defiant youths.
With conditions inside Iran and abroad changing dramatically, the PMOI/MEMK has focused on forming and expanding the resistance units, such that organizing them in a nationwide network which is now in direct contact with the Iranian people from every walk of life.
