MEK Resistance Units Mark International Workers’ Day Across Iran

PMOI Resistance Units commemorate International Workers’ Day across Iran

On May 1, 2025, in honor of International Workers’ Day, Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out a series of daring actions in cities throughout Iran. These activities demonstrated solidarity with Iran’s workers—particularly those impacted by the recent Bandar Abbas explosion—and denounced the systemic injustice inflicted by the regime on the working class.

Operations were reported in over 20 cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Isfahan, Rasht, Ahvaz, Bandar Abbas, Sari, Zanjan, Karaj, Kermanshah, Yasuj, Lahijan, Shahroud, Shush, Saveh, Qaemshahr, Hamedan, Kerman, and others.

In Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, and Ahvaz, Resistance Units condemned the regime’s recklessness:
“Storing missile fuel near unsuspecting civilians and workers is a crime against humanity” — a direct rebuke of the Bandar Abbas incident.

In Rasht and Mashhad, banners honored the victims:
“We hail the hardworking workers of Bandar Abbas and salute the martyrs and injured on the eve of International Workers’ Day.”

Calls for regime change and worker solidarity echoed across cities:
“Workers and the National Liberation Army will overthrow the mullahs’ tyranny,”
“Every worker’s cry: Down with the oppressor, whether Shah or Mullah,”
“The Shah and the Mullahs are enemies of Iranian workers,”
“Poverty, corruption, high prices… we will overthrow this regime,”
“Our resistance rose to end the unemployment and poverty of millions of workers.”

In cities like Mashhad and Tehran, messages of support were visible:
“Workers and the deprived, the PMOI supports you and stands with you in your struggle.”

Celebratory and defiant slogans appeared in Sari, Shahroud, Lahijan, Zanjan, and Yasuj:
“Happy International Workers’ Day to all the workers and deprived people of our homeland,”
“Workers are awake… they despise both Shah and Mullah.”

These actions go beyond symbolism—they represent a firm bond between the Resistance and Iran’s working class. They carry a message of resistance to political oppression and socioeconomic injustice.

The Resistance Units aim to:
– Expose the regime’s crimes against workers
– Break the wall of repression through bold public defiance
– Amplify the voices of Iranian workers to a global audience
– Assert that true workers’ rights begin with dismantling the clerical dictatorship

They maintain that the path to workers’ liberation lies in a democratic Iran—free from monarchy and theocracy—grounded in popular rule and social justice.
