From Tehran and Mashhad to Sanandaj and Tabriz, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units carried out poster installations, photo actions, wall writings, and protest activities, calling for the abolition of death sentences and support for political prisoners facing execution.
Iran – August 11, 2026: As the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign entered its 133rd consecutive week, Resistance Units and freedom-loving Iranians in cities across Iran carried out protest activities, including displaying posters, photo actions, and wall writings, expressing their opposition to the death penalty.
The activities emphasized solidarity with political prisoners sentenced to death and condemned executions. The slogans called for the abolition of death sentences, resistance to repression, and the continuation of the struggle for freedom.
Arak
- A flower arrangement featuring a color photograph of slain MEK member Vahid Bani-Amerian, bearing the message:
“Dear Vahid, your memory will forever live in the hearts of the Iranian people.”
Mashhad
- A protest message stated:
“Greetings to political prisoners sentenced to death, including Arvin Khairkhahan. Political prisoners are the voice of society’s awakened conscience—people who have risked their lives and freedom for Iran because they defended freedom, justice, and the rights of the people. Remaining silent in the face of the wave of executions means turning a blind eye to injustice and paving the way for these crimes to continue. Let us stand together in solidarity, raise awareness, and support defenseless prisoners, and raise one voice against executions. Let us not allow the lives of these beloved individuals to be taken in silence. Let us be the voice of political prisoners and demand, with all our strength, an end to executions, the abolition of death sentences, the release of political prisoners, and respect for the dignity and rights of all freedom-loving people. Finally, I strongly condemn the executions of political prisoners Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani, Amirhossein Safar Hosseinabadi, Mehdi Khanaki, and Arvin Khairkhahan.
