Resistance Units and freedom-loving Iranians stage protest activities and memorial actions in cities across Iran, calling for an end to executions and the overthrow of the Iranian regime
As part of the nationwide struggle against the Iranian regime’s wave of criminal executions, Resistance Units and freedom-loving Iranians carried out widespread protest activities on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, marking the 136th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign.
The activities included displaying posters, photo actions, flower tributes, and memorial tables in Tehran, Karaj, and dozens of other cities across Iran. Many of the actions also commemorated the 40th day since the martyrdom of PMOI martyr Mehdi Khanaki, a commander of a Resistance Unit.
Through these activities, the Resistance Units and supporters of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign called for the abolition of death sentences and an end to executions, while reaffirming their determination to continue the struggle for freedom and the overthrow of the Iranian regime.
Tehran
A flower wreath bearing Mehdi Khanaki’s photo was displayed with the message:
“Dear and courageous Mehdi, in your memory, there is a flame in my heart that will never be extinguished.”
A memorial table was also set up to mark the 40th day since the martyrdom of Mehdi Khanaki.
Another poster carried the slogan:
“In memory of our comrades, we stand until the end. No to Execution Tuesdays campaign.”
Karaj
A flower basket bearing Mehdi Khanaki’s photo carried the message:
“Forty days have passed, but your name remains more alive than ever in our hearts.”
A memorial table accompanying the display stated:
“Today marks the 40th day since the martyrdom of Mehdi Khanaki—a day to remember a person who gave meaning to his life through his dream of freedom and a proud Iran. Mehdi has left us, but his beliefs and aspirations remain in the hearts of the people of Iran. His memory reminds us of values such as dignity, humanity, freedom, and hope for a better future for Iran.”
The display concluded with:
“Salute to hero Mehdi — No to Execution Tuesdays campaign.”
Kerman
Posters carried the following slogans:
“On the 40th day since the martyrdom of Mehdi Khanaki, we honor his memory and his path — No to Execution Tuesdays campaign.”
“On the 40th day since the martyrdom of Mehdi Khanaki, we will continue his path until the overthrow of the regime. No to executions.”
Somayeh Sara
A poster carried the slogan:

Varamin
A poster carried the slogan:
“Mehdi Khanaki, your path continues — No to Execution Tuesdays campaign.”
Shiraz
A poster carried the slogan:
“No to executions — Political prisoners must be released. 1405.”
Isfahan
A poster displayed the following verse:
“Why do you frighten us, executioner?
When I laid my head at the feet of freedom,
I washed my hands of life for freedom.”
The poster identified the action with the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign.
Another poster carried a statement attributed to Massoud Rajavi:
“For the massacre and execution regime, a ceasefire means nothing but a halt to killing and execution. 1405.”
Mashhad
A poster carried the slogan:

The nationwide activities during the 136th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign demonstrated the continued opposition of Resistance Units and freedom-loving Iranians to executions and death sentences. The memorial actions honoring Mehdi Khanaki, also reaffirmed their commitment to keeping alive the memory and path of those who sacrificed their lives for freedom.
