Geneva, Switzerland – February 24, 2025: Iranian dissidents and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered at Place des Nations in Geneva to protest the Iranian regime’s increasing use of executions as a tool of repression. The demonstrators denounced the death sentences issued against political prisoners, calling for international intervention to stop the regime’s systematic human rights abuses.
The rally particularly demanded an immediate halt to the executions of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, two political prisoners facing imminent execution. Protesters urged the United Nations and the international community to take concrete action against Tehran’s ongoing crackdown on dissent.
Speakers at the event emphasized the Iranian people’s fight for democracy and justice, calling for the recognition of their right to resist tyranny. They also called on European governments and the UN Human Rights Council, headquartered in Geneva, to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its crimes against humanity.
Demonstrators reaffirmed their support for a democratic republic in Iran, rejecting both the mullahs’ theocratic rule and any return to monarchy.
This protest in Geneva is part of a global movement advocating for the Iranian people’s freedom, with similar rallies taking place across Europe and North America in recent weeks.
