On July 13, 2019, Ashraf 3, new home to members of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) hosted many Iranians and distinguished figures from the world’s five continents. The U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli was one of the prominent politicians who took part in the gathering and delivered important remarks. He said:
“What began with a single woman is a chorus around the world… To those of you that are risking your lives in Iran I say, It is your time. To the students, if you haven’t joined the brigades of resistance, join today, join tomorrow. Take your lives in your hands,” said former U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli during his speech at the MEK rally in Ashraf 3. “To the workers who hear my voice, break down your chains and rise up to your freedom and the right to feed your families.”
Torricelli underlined the role of the MEK and NCRI in leading the fight against the mullahs’ regime. “There is only one organization that promises to overthrow the dictatorship in Iran and restore the nation and that organization is the PMOI and their leader is Maryam Rajavi,” he said.
He also stressed how the longtime and just resistance of this movement has garnered support from across the world. “Gathered here today is what the regime could not buy. The respect of other nations. Democrats and Republicans, are committed to one common cause: the destruction of this regime now,” Torricelli said at the MEK rally in Ashraf 3.
