Thursday’s Iran Events – June 28, 2018

June 28 – Tehran, Iran Strikes continue in the capital’s gold retailers’ bazaar.

A report on the 4th day of Iran Protests as Iran’s regime grows more concerned over escalating unrest.

Iran head of judiciary threatens protesters to execution, decisive action in the face of popular uprising

Sadegh Larijani, the chief henchman of the clerical regime’s judiciary, on Tuesday, June 26, on the third day of the strike of the Bazaar and popular protests and in fear of spreading these protests, threatened the perpetrators of the “riots” of Tehran and “disrupters in the economic system” to decisive action and execution and said: “These acts have severe penalties as a disruption to the economic system of the country under the law of disturbing the country’s economic system. It has been seen that, if this is a case of corruption, the execution would be carried out and, if not, it would be 20 years’ imprisonment.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the Iranian resistance, with regards to today’s statements by Mullah Larijani, on the death sentence and decisive action against the protesters, said that these statements also reflect the inhumane nature of Larijani and his Supreme Leader, Khamenei, about the uprising of the Iranian people. She emphasized that these statements are in flagrant violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and many other international conventions, such as the Convention on Civil and Political Rights, and said the United Nations Security Council should act promptly. Mrs. Rajavi urged the Security Council, the United Nations Human Rights Council and other international human rights organizations to strongly condemn the threats of the head of the clerical judiciary for execution of the protesters and to act to release the detainees.

Iran; Continuation of strike and confrontation with repressive security forces

Demonstrations and clashes in different parts of Tehran, which began on Tuesday morning, continued until the end of the day. In addition to the central streets of Tehran and TehranPars in the east of Tehran, the clashes were stretched to the south of Tehran, including the Shush street and square.

Young people in different parts of Tehran and in different cities in skirmishes with repressive forces chanted slogans of “Down with high prices; You shameless people, leave the country; Iranian dies, does not accept humiliation; Wow to the day we are armed; Let go of Syria, think about us.”

Iran Strikes

Fourth day of strike and protest in Tehran despite massive crackdowns.

The strike of Tehran Bazaar continued for the fourth day on Wednesday, June 27th. In the Soltani bazaar, people demonstrated chanting: Zealous merchants, support, support; Do not be afraid, do not be afraid, we are all together.

Meanwhile, the mullahs’ regime is trying to cover up the current crisis by making changes to the Rouhani’s cabinet in a bid to prevent the spread of uprising. But the reality is that the Velayat-e Faqih’s regime itself is the main cause of the crisis, and such changes –similar to the last days of Shah’s rule—only intensifies the internal crisis of the regime and makes the will of the people stronger to overthrow this regime.

Iran Strikes

In its 4th day, Iran’s economic protests evolve politically

Coming six months after the Dec/Jan uprising crippled the regime, Iran’s mullahs are struggling yet again to restore calm in the capital as shop owners across the famous Grand Bazaar and other branches continue their strike.

With the ruling mullahs spending billions in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and… word amongst the people is that they are completely disconnected with the average Iranians’ concern.

Instead of providing solutions Rouhani began blaming foreign enemies on Tuesday and accusing the United States of waging an “economic war” against the regime. This has been a tactic used by the regime throughout the past 40 years.

As the regime’s concerns increase, Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi issued a message on June 25 aired on INTV hailing the brave protesters in Tehran and other cities and saying, “The liberation war in Tehran has escalated. The fire has reached the capital and will never be put out.”
