I want to support hugely Maryam Rajavi and her 10-point platform

Margaret Owen
My name is Margaret Owen and I’m an international human rights lawyer working on human rights issues all over the world and one of my priority issues is the appalling suffering of the Iranian people under this mullah’s regime. They’re just so many examples of really appalling human rights violations. I’m just thinking of those extraordinary brave people men and women who protested a few months ago across Iran, all sorts of people protested, the workers, the women who don’t know where their husbands are, people whose relations have been in prison or been disappeared for ages, people were protesting they had no job that they didn’t have the basic necessities for a decent life didn’t have electricity they didn’t have food on the table whilst the mullahs regime was spending billions of dollars exporting terrorism across the region and indeed across the world.

Maryam Rajavi

I protested last year when it was the 30th anniversary of the massacre of 80.000 political prisoners, men women and even children, and now we learn that the present minister of Justice in the mullahs’ regime was one of those who was responsible for that terrible massacre 30 years ago. And I have also just learnt recently that the regime is now destroying the mass graves, trying to destroy all the evidence because there have to be an independent UN investigations about exactly what happened 30 years ago. But it’s happening right now people are being executed. All sorts of people, Kurds, because I’m really interested in the plight of the Kurdish people in the four countries in the region and only I think two weeks ago two very young men, who were Kurds, were hung and when women in prison were being executed were rapped before they were executed so they won’t go to Paradise. And the regime is using those lifting of sanction not to make life easier for all the many poor people in Iran who are without jobs, without health services, without education services without electricity. They are using the sanctions released to export terrorism. Look what they’re doing in Syria, backing a terrible regime in Syria, that of Assad, and we, the United Kingdom have a responsibility to condemn the mullahs. It’s all very well to have this deal, about the nuclear, with Iran which of course the United States is now pulling out of, but can we even believe the mullahs when they say, that they will actually abide by the terms of the nuclear deal? We can’t! We can’t!

I want to support hugely the President-elect of Iran, Maryam Rajavi and her 10-point platform for a democratic Iran. And she has promised that they will abolish the death penalty, they will reestablish independent judiciary, they will come back to ensure that the Iranian people can enjoy the real fruits of democracy and justice and freedom. And I salute all the amazing Iranian people and particularly the women. Because it’s woman who in the forefront of that protests when so many people were arrested. These brave women who took off their headscarves and put up them on sticks knowing that even if they were arrested they would face probably terrible tortures in the Iranian prisons. And I’m thinking not just of Nazanin Ratcliffe who the world knows, because she has been in prison now for nearly 2 years on trumped up charges of being spy for the British. Because there are many Nazanin that we don’t know. Another one just three weeks ago, British-Iranian who went back to visit her elderly frail parents in Iran and again was put into prison and being accused of being a British spy. so I hope that the UK government will really put prioritize the Freedom of the people of Iran and prioritize that far about try to make a deal with the regime that does nothing but tell lies and can’t be trusted and is it responsible for literally millions of deaths, not just in Iran, but in the region because of the way they exports terrorism across the region.

and also I’m so proud I have been invited to join a huge Gathering on the 30th of June that will be happened in Paris, when Iranian from all over the world are going to come to this Congress in Paris, because all over the world are Iranians who love to see a free Iran and go back to their country which is free from this unbelievable and terrible regime. And I am looking forward to meet literally thousands of people who will be Gather in Paris to join and support Maryam Rajavi and her democratic platform.
Thank you.
