The US arms embargo against the ruling regime in Tehran sends a clear message. “We do not appease or negotiate with terrorists.”
August 2020
This committee is proud that for the past ten years, it has always opposed the war-mongering policies of the mullahs’ regime and the repression of the Iranian people, and has sided with the people and the National Council of Resistance of Iran, led by Mrs. Rajavi. We remain determined to help the Iranian people establish a democratic republic.
The 40-year-old records of the religious fascist ruling Iran are black including : Mass executions, stoning, amputation, torture and massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 and the killing of 1,500 protesters in November 2019, arbitrary arrests and enforced disappearances, a long list of acts of terror and violence against the people which stems from the fanatical ideology that governs this regime. The regime has been convicted 65 times for human rights violations in relevant international bodies, repeatedly for assassinations in various countries from Argentina to Paris, from Beirut to Rome, and from Istanbul to Washington, and its leaders have been convicted in various courts, and are wanted by Interpol. This regime intends to impose itself on the international community by committing acts of terror inside and outside the country.
Unfortunately, the appeasement policy has so far fueled the regime to continue its crimes and prevented it from being held accountable before the law. The great contradiction in democratic countries, which are one of the greatest human achievements, is the separation of powers, where following their constitution, no exceptions are made in the judiciary system for their citizens under any circumstances, but in relation to the Iranian terrorists, influenced by politics, these laws are overlooked, appeasement takes its place and causes the criminals to escape the grip of justice.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran encouraged the West to adopt a decisive policy against the religious fascists governing Iran. However, in parallel with this policy, it has always revealed a lot of information about the nuclear and missile program and regional influence, as well as the mullahs’ terrorism, and has opened the eyes of the world to the destructive plans of this regime. Therefore, the international community should not only appreciate this resistance, but also pursue the right policy, which is to deal decisively with this regime.
The nuclear understanding with this regime did not make any serious contribution to the advancement of world peace, and the suspension of six UN sanctions resolutions from 5 years ago has been only for the benefit of the clergy and against the Iranian people and the interests of the people of the region and the world. This only extended the life of religious fascism to continue terror, massacre, and incitement to war in the world. This regime seeks its survival in having nuclear weapons and the vicious influence of its proxy groups in the region and the repression of the Iranian people.
We, the Romanian parliamentarians, support the comeback of sanctions under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which can be an important step in making the Middle East, Europe and the United States safer, and call on the US government to pursue the same decisive policy against Iran.
The bloody history of twentieth-century Europe has not forgotten the appeasers who killed the world in two world wars with the wrong policies, but certainly those who appease this religious fascist today and have caused bloodshed and murder in the Middle East, will be shamefully exposed. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi also confirms the arms embargo on Iran, declaring:
“Lifting the six UN resolutions imposing sanctions on the Iranian regime since five years ago has been in favor of the mullahs & against the interests of the people of #Iran. It prolonged the rule of the regime to continue its terror, massacres and belligerence. Enough is enough. Full implementation of the UNSC resolutions is the only guarantee to prevent the regime from accessing the nuclear bomb.”
