A majority of Yemen’s Senate has officially endorsed Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for a democratic Iran, aligning with the global movement advocating for the designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and the recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist oppression.
The declaration was signed by Senate Speaker Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher, Secretary General Azaldin bin Abdul Salam Al-Ansi, Abdullah Ali Al-Alwa, and most members of Yemen’s upper house. The statement condemns Tehran’s destructive influence across the region and calls for a resolute international stance against its aggression.
“The Iranian regime’s survival hinges on regional conflict,” the senators stated, warning that appeasement only emboldens terrorism and increases the danger of nuclear escalation.
The Senate expressed support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), affirming the Iranian people’s rejection of both monarchy and theocratic rule during the 2022 uprising. They highlighted the NCRI’s democratic agenda, which includes opposition to forced hijab, religious coercion, dictatorship, and capital punishment.
The statement also denounced Iran’s worsening human rights crisis, citing over 1,000 executions in 2024 and death sentences for nine PMOI-linked political prisoners. Yemen’s Senate stressed that with peaceful dissent suppressed, the right to resist is both legal and essential.
Calling the IRGC a central pillar of state repression and regional destabilization, the Senate urged the international community to follow the lead of over 4,000 legislators and 130 former heads of state who endorsed Rajavi’s plan in June 2024.
“Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan presents a credible path to ending theocracy and advancing peace in the Middle East,” the statement concluded.
