The 12th day of truck drivers’ strike in Iran & regime’s fear of the continuation the strike

The 12th day of truck drivers’ strike in Iran & regime’s fear of the continuation the strike

The truck drivers’ strike was extended to 282 cities in 31 provinces.

In continuation of the uprisings in Iran, on Wednesday, the toiler truck drivers continued their integrated and nationwide strike for the eleventh day.

This strike continues in most cities of Iran, despite the enormous pressures and deceptions of the clerical regime.

This nationwide and great strike has so far spread to 282 cities in 31 provinces of the country and the Velayat-e faqih regime’s officials have been overwhelmed by fear of the linkages between the MEK and the protest uprisings and strikes of the irked people and began threatening the toiler drivers.

The nationwide truckers’ strike is also supported by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) issued a statements and supported the truck drivers’ strike.

The statements reads, “The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) expresses its concern about the Iranian government’s reaction to the latest industrial action by truck drivers, which is in its second week.

The ITF is extremely concerned that news emerging from Iran has detailed a large number of driver arrests. Around 150 truck drivers in various provinces have reportedly been detained for participating in the action, with a spokesperson for the judiciary threatening “heavy punishment.”

Most seriously, the ITF understands that Iran’s attorney general, Mohammad Jaafar Montazeri, has suggested that those who initiated the protest actions will be subject to the death penalty, citing a threat to national security. His comments have been echoed by other clerics.

ITF head of inland transport Noel Coard said: “We are very concerned about the situation. Let it be clear that ITF unions globally voice their solidarity and stand alongside the truckers of Iran in their fight to defend workers’ rights.”

Also, the American Teamsters union have voiced their support for the striking truck drivers in Iran for a second time this year in an open letter to the Deputy Director of Iran’s interests in the US, Abolfazl Mehrabadi and urged the Iranian Regime to listen to the demands of the striking workers.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which has 1.4 million members in the US and Canada, published their letter, written by General President James P. Hoffa, on Twitter, utilizing the hashtag #SupportIranTruckers.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, saluted the strikers throughout Iran, describing the vindictive threats of the clerics against the dignified and hardworking drivers as a reflection of the growing crisis of the clerical regime, and said that the ruling mullahs were the biggest bandits in the history of Iran, and that they neither want nor can respond to legitimate demands of striking drivers. She called on all human rights organizations to take action to release the arrested and urged the general public, especially the youth, to support the strikers. She added that realization of these demands is only possible with the establishment of democracy and people’s sovereignty. A regime that threatens to execute its working people due to a strike must be rejected by the international community.
